I am pleased to see that the PM is backing John Howard with Howard’s tough line on the Solomons and PNG. Yes Australia can sometimes be ham-fisted with their approach to Pacific diplomacy, but the underlying issue is a vital one – good governance is the key to more prosperity and stability in the Pacific.
