Easter Trading
he NZ Herald reports on a submission against trading on Easter Sunday. What struck me was the arrogance of the arguments out forward:
“I feel that people can manage surely one day without the shops being open.”
Hmmn, so this one person has decided to speak on behalf of all NZers.
“I’m sure the shops aren’t making any extra money by being open on a Sunday.”
And now she speaks on behalf of all business owners
“I think people can change their shopping day to another day.”
And now she decides for all New Zealanders again.
