I do feel a little for the way Hubbard is being taken to task. The reality is that he has very few powers as he just does not have the backing of the majority on the Council. He is pretty much a figurehead.Hucker and his ilk must be holding their sides laughing as Hubbard gets hammered while they stay nicely hidden. In my view its Hucker and co who have spent more than they should and caused this blowout. The irony is that the cost of their Social Housing Policies and other initiatives has pushed pensioners and other low income earners to a point where they may have to sell their own homes!

Remember how Banks and his council wasted $700,000 on trying to get consents to run a V8 street races. It was such a botched job they were asked to provide more information like some novice developer!

Then there was the $10 million ,( yes Million) spent on the great Eastern highway debacle. Building a causeway acroos Hobsons Bay under the noses of the wealthy. Never going to happen. But it did have a silver lining , getting rid of Aaron Bhanagar , CR and Banks in one fell swoop. Of course now AAron has left for the motorway on ramp in Hillsborough , will he be standing in Roskill next time around?

How amusing McPhee. I suppose you have confused me with the A.Bhatnagar who happens to live in Hillsborough? Heh – poor fellow, he must get all the mad lefties like you ringing up wanting to abuse him. I note that you made this sort of wild mixup before regarding Matthew Hooten. And besides, isn’t it a bit creepy that you’re looking up my (incorrect!) residential details to post on this blog?

The v8 street race was hardly a waste of money – even Hubbard saw merit in the idea and tried to make it work when he first came on board. But it got killed by the new left wing council.

As for the road across Hobson Bay, yes, the road got voted down but most of the rest of the Eastern Corridor is proceeding, the scaled back AMETI in Auckland City, and Manukau City is proceeding pretty much unchanged from the original plan. So only a small part actually got ditched, meaning that the rest of the plans actually are being implemented.

McPhee is sliding down the slippery slope of being a boarder stalker…. Maybe he wanted to come over and convince you to appreciate his leftism.
The V8 race would have been spectacular for Auckland. It would once again put it on the motor racing map and the city would have reaped the rewards for it.
Hubbard is a puppet that is strung up by all the landslide lefties and cant really do much other than plan for his retirement.

I must say that the Air New Zealand business class seats look rather comfy….

Yeah “retards” who would bring income into the city and give it more of a profile, how terrible. Wonder what err would consider to be a “sufficiently powered car” as opposed to an “overpowered” one…a trabant perhaps…ah yes, the glorious triumph of socialist engineering 😉
