Hell – NZ Aviation Security have said that flights to the US from NZ may also ban cabin luggage, as is now the case for UK flights.

I fly to San Francisco tomorrow evening and the thought of 12 hours on a flight with no books or laptop is horrendous. Being without something to do for even a few minutes is difficult for me. 12 hours would be like an eternity in purgatory!

At least it is one of the new planes with the entertainment systems. So if deprived of my books I could just play video games for half a day!

Let’s just hope that the ban only applies to the UK and not also the US.
