Daintree

Well thanks to the early start, we made Cape Tribulation and found a lovely picnic area by Myall Beach. Was delightfully tranquil as we had a picnic lunch in the shade with the rain forest as a wonderful backdrop.

Then a short walk onto the beach

followed by the Dubuji boardwalk.

Then went as far north as one can go without a 4WD and went up to the Kulki lookout whch gave an elevated view.

Then time to head back down south, stopping at the Mardja Boardwalk and going through some nice mangrove swamp. Unlike the previous boardwalk, we wisely decided not to leave the trail on this one.

A quick stop at the Waluwurriga Alexandra Range Lookout.

At the Daintree Village came across this. It looks like a camel seduced a cow a few years back, but does anyone know what it is?

And then got back home around 5 pm – 13 hours after I got up! Now enjoying the free wireless they have in the hotel bar. Definitely starting to think a week isn’t long enough here!
