Russel Norman elected Green co-leader
As predicted and expected, Russel Norman has been elected as the Green co-leader with a Y chromosome.
Congratulations to Mr Norman – quite an achievement to be elected a co-leader while not in Parliament.
So far I have not seen the actual voting results. I hope the Greens with their commitment to transparency will release the figures, like ACT did.
This represents a clear victory for the hard left faction (Normal is a former communist) over the environmental faction. Once Sue Bradford becomes the other co-leader this will be complete.
UPDATE: Quite silly but feeling a bit sad over the election representing the final act in replacing Rod Donald. He really was too young to die, but life is cruel sometimes.
