The Governor-General Designate, Anand Satyanand, gets promoted to the highest level of the New Zealand Order of Merit as a Principal Companion. As previously noted, he will be the first GG in modern history not to be titled as Sir, Dame or Lord.

Jock Hobbs gets a well deserved CNZM. Tana gets an ONZM to go with his handbag 🙂
