As I blogged last week, the Government has made a change to student loan eligibility which will destory many private training establishments.

Deborah Coddington in the HOS details the stupidity of this policy change. Basically it is a kneejerk response to the interest free student loans bribe.

This policy change is going to remove choice from many students. Coddington sums it up with:

The Government, it seems, is more intent on obliterating the private sector and protecting incompetent polytechnics from competition. In less than a decade taxpayers have bailed out various polytechnics to the tune of $120m. If they were privately owned, they’d be floating around like deceased goldfish.
