Misinterpretation

Russell Brown blogs about the Greens and their declaration they could, under the right conditions work with National.

Russell then refers to “DPF and his mates might be rejoicing at the Greens having seen the light” and points out how the two parties disagree on almost every issue.

This is a misinterpretation of what I have been saying. It may be hard for people to get used to this, but not all of what I post is from a perspective about what is good for National or might lead to a National Government.

All my opinions on this topic have been purely on the basis of what is good for the Greens, so Labour don’t keep crapping on them. I have never ever said I think National and Greens could agree on policies enough to support a Government. My point has been the Greens need to keep open the possibility, so they get leverage with Labour.

Technically my advice is against National’s best interests. National doesn’t actually want Labour to stop Labour crapping on the Greens. It is most commendable from a purely partisan point of view. God forbid what policy madness a Labour/Green Coalition Government would inflict on NZ.

For the record this is my current list, in order, of parties I would want National to try and do a future deal with:

1) ACT
2) United Future
3) Maori
4) Labour
5) Green
6) Progressive
7) NZ First
8) Destiny

If there was a “blue-green” party they would be at No 2, but there is no way the Green Party, soon to be led by two former communists, is ever going to be that.

A Ron Mark led NZ First would also jump to place No 2.
