Moussaoui not to be executed

Zacarias Moussaoui, convicted in a US court in connection with the 911 terrorist attacks has not been sentenced to execution but rather life without parole.

I am very glad of this outcome.

Moussaoui wanted to be executed. He wanted to be the great martyr, whose name would be known for generations as the only person killed by the US for the 911 attacks. This decision means he will not die a martyr. He will die in 40 years time in a small jail cell, with no friends and in near total obscurity.

For Moussaoui living in a US jail will be far worse than death.

I don’t suppose they can only feed him bacon in jail can they?
