DHBs forced to cull

Helen has tried to blame the great patient cull on bad management by a few DHBs. However this NZ Herald article makes it very clear that DHBs are instructed by the Health Ministry to make such culls.

The Waitemata and central Auckland boards have been told they need to reduce the list of over 8000 patients waiting more than six months by 6000 patients.

And what happens if they do not? They lose up to $3 million of funding.

This policy is being directed by central Government. The DHBs are the patsies who you are meant to blame.
