Anti-Spam Legislation
The Commerce Select Committee has started to hear submissions on the anti-spam legislation. A report from yesterday is in the Dom Post.
I’ll be submitting, as part of the InternetNZ team, next Thursday morning.
The NZ Herald coincidentally has a column from Canadian Internet Law Professor Michael Geist on the need for anti-spam laws and how technology alone can’t win the fight. Neither will legislation alone. As always there is no silver bullet but a range of measures needed. Personally mine would included televised lynchings but I’m told that may be against the Bill of Rights Act also 🙂
