The Herald on Sunday confirms its tabloid status, with an indigenous version of the infamous Sheik from News of the World. Instead they had Rachel Clucina “work undercover” to get close to Mick Jagger during his stay here.

They report throughout how distrustful Jagger is of the media, as he has been stung before. No bloody wonderful with gutter tactics like this where you lie and deceive you way into his company, all the time just using his friendship to get a story.

In the end Jagger didn’t lay a hand on Ms Clucina and looks a total gentleman. However I wonder what Clucina would have done if he had tried to sleep with her. Did the Herald on Sunday provide condoms just in case?

Not that anything would have been wrong with Jagger sleeping with Ms Clucina or her accomplice, Olivia Hemus, as he is currently single.

The sad thing is that somewhere Jagger would have now read that those two nice girls he met were scamsters and liars, who betrayed his confidence. That’s the memory he’ll have of NZ and NZers.
