Found an online personality test which reveals secrets about your love life.

UPDATE: Ok for those who have’t found out the hard way yet, it’s a prank site – the answers you put in are e-mailed to the person who linked to the site (ie me in this case). Good to see no-one has got too upset over it (I did sort of warn people that it reveals secrets!), even though someone did suggest it was fortunate I am overseas at the moment 🙂

So why link to the hoax. Two reasons. The first is simply because I fell for it on Jacqueline’s site (she even had her boyfriend fall for it!) and I enjoy sharing embarrassment.

The second and more important is because I think it is a useful lesson on privacy and security on the Net. We all type in personal stuff on us all over the place, and this is a salutory lesson about being careful about what you type in. I know I certainly am going to be far more careful in future.

And for anyone worried about their results. Relax. I’m not going to e-mail your boyfriend and let them know you are planning to dump them. The data isn’t in fact e-mailed to me, but stored as links on a secure website, and I am not enough of a voyeur to spend hours looking through 1,000 or so sets of answers. In fact I will delete them all shortly.
