I was talking with a mate of the son’s over the holidays JB & going by what he said I wouldn’t be in a hurry to buy a new house in Wellington nowadays. He drives a truck for a firm delivering materials to building sites all over the area & according to him it is near impossible to find anyone able to speak English.

They have one qualified builder overseeing half a dozen jobs, the actual building being done by unqualified foreign workers. Legal but dangerous. Apparently after each visit by a building inspector there’s a massive redistribution around the sites of insulation & other stuff that will be hidden by walls.

Ignorance will be bliss…..maybe!

Asians refuse to buy a house if other Asians have built it.

They know.

We’re still learning their depravity.

Quite a network to be part of – don’t you think Kiwibloggers?

Not bad for a female ‘Tradie’ who has never been to University, or had a days formal legal training in my life?

But I HAVE been very involved in a number of activities / campaigns that have been focused on ‘the Rule of Law’ – some which have been proven to be successful.

So – why did the WJP ask someone like myself, to participate in this arguably quite internationally significant 2015 Rule of Law Index?

The WJP didn’t state why specifically they had asked me to participate – but my guess is because arguably some folk, locally, nationally and internationally, involved in the ‘Rule of Law’ community, are paying more attention to, and have far greater respect for the work that I am doing in this field, than do some purported lawyers on Kiwiblog?
