Suspicious Burglaries

Diane Foreman has gone public with her suspicions that multiple break-ins at her apartment were politically motivated.

It seems her Parnell apartment was burgled twice in the six weeks leading up to the 2005 election, including a break-in on the night before polling day.  Nothing was stolen either time.

Incredibly when the Police investigated, they asked Foreman whether rumours in Wellington that she was a drug dealer were true.  Jesus Christ. Talk about offensive.

One of the intruders was identified by a friend staying with her as a private detective.

Personally I am very very reluctant to believe any sort of break in is politically motivated.  I think the stolen e-mails probably came about by someone illegally accessing a machine or server at Parliament, not through break ins.

On the other hand there were reports John Key’s rubbish was being searched at least twice.  And the Exclusive Brethren actually were mad enough to hire a private detective to spy on the Prime Minister, so can one totally rule it out – I guess not.  However I still consider it highly unlikely.
