Neither Edmund Burke nor Russell Kirk were authoritarians. Quite the opposite. Liberal authoritarians, like the Houston mayor, are plentiful.

Red is not a conservative. Real conservatism is pragmatic not ideological. Red just finds the most extreme position possible, then parrots it mindlessly. He does this because he does not bother to think deeply, and clearly has never read either Burke or Kirk, or any classical Conservative/Tory thinker. In his case, the issue is obviously psychological. Like kea.

I am not concerned with popularity, only truth. What is true can be debateable, but the methods of discovering it require an open mind. They are not supported by chanting Trollllllllllllllllllll all day long.

I do not report anything as I believe in freedom of expression. I think people can make up their own minds and do not need self appointed busy bodies to think for them. Invariably censors do not have the welfare of people in mind. They are purely selfish and seek power and control.

The views and manner of the resident Christian extremists are something I had never encountered until coming here. I used to put such claims down as anti Christian propaganda. I would not have known they were a real thing, unless they had freedom of expression. I encourage them to share their views far and wide.

The problem is that you attribute views to me I don’t hold. That is why your accusations of bigotry don’t fly, and why you can’t provide any evidence for that.

As to the more rabid anti-Muslim comments here, they are equally made by both Christians and atheists., and in fact the atheists are often worst.

You want everyone at KB to fit in your convenient and tidy little boxes, but that is just your own bigotry, and your bad habit of making assumptions, instead of getting to know people and finding out what they actually believe, and why.

I would advise being careful about making assumptions about any person or group based on a blog. Blogs tend to attract people at the fringes who are not representative.

Eastern Europe in the 1990’s should have regrouped the Warsaw Pact without Russia, which would have prevented the stupid expansion of NATO which is now a major provocation to Russia.

In this month’s issue of Personality and Individual Differences, a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: Internet trolls are horrible people.

Let’s start by getting our definitions straight: An Internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, in fact, it seems like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.

What kind of person would do this? Some Canadian researchers decided to find out.
They conducted two online studies with over 1,200 people, giving personality tests to each subject along with a survey about their Internet commenting behavior. They were looking for evidence that linked trolling with the “Dark Tetrad” of personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism.

They found that Dark Tetrad scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity.

Note that for those of us who understand geopolitics and there aren’t very many here let me tell you, Ukraine is and always has been a far, far more significant operation than ISIS. Of course, duh, the MSM obeys its masters and plays the one which doesn’t count non-stop for all the morons. 2. Are there other Soviet era admin changes you believe the West should support, or only this particular one ?

TVNZ News reported Black Grass seed spilt off the back of a truck in Canterbury last year over 40km area.
The report showed inspectors seeing if they could find any growth along the roadside. Farmers’ are holding their breath, and hoping it won’t take hold as it smothers pasture (as it has already done in Britain,etc).

No answer in the TVNZ report of what the Black seed is doing in NZ? I would have thought that was an important question to ask and include in the report. If it was for research, maybe those responsible should ensure hazards to our economy are safely transported. 🙁

I would have thought that was an important question to ask and include in the report.

Two problems:

a) most of the audience are morons and salivate not over this but over e.g. marriages in Venice by people they’ve never met and never will; and
b) most of the people who report and decide what to report, think the only relevant and important thing in the whole wide world is what the audience wants.

The hidden problem is of course that the people in b apparently aren’t capable of thinking anything other than that, despite the fact their very own jobs are disappearing as they tank the entire industry they work in. Apparently and evidently, self-interest works in every other area of life down to the cellular level, except apparently and evidently, in journalism.

Isn’t that interesting.

If they wanted it back, then negotiate rather than sending in troops. And you are conveniently forgetting that Russia is also trying to anexx other parts of the Ukraine by supporting separatists. Care to explain what that has to do with Crimea?
