Crime so out of control even a Govt MP is scared
The HoS reveals that a tinnie house has been openly trading next to an MPs office with 40 visitors/sales in just 150 minutes.
What I found fascinating is how Ross Robertson asked the Herald on Sunday to leave out details about where his office was in relation to the tinnie house because he did not want to attract their anger.
Shouldn’t the local MP be the one person leading the campaign publicly for the Police to take action? If the MP is scared of retaliation, how on earth can the Government expect other citizens to report crime? Doesn’t this suggest a climate of fear rather than law?
I also must note how hard working Mr Robertson is, saying “I’m not there so I don’t know. I’m only there for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon to see constituents.”.
Many MPs spend all of Friday, Saturday and Monday on constituency activities.
