VUWSA General Meeting

VUWSA looks to have had an interesting general meeting with most of the resolutions but forward crashing to a massive defeat at today’s general meeting.

A trivial resolution on disclosure statements appearing in Salient was the only one carried – by 90 to 4.

A resolution to remove the two year term limit for VUWSA President went down 6 to 70.

One relating to how rep groups such as the Maori Students Assn was withdrawn.

A resolution to have the general executive roles split into individual jobs elected separately failed 10 to 53

And finally the 5th resolution failed to even gain a seconder. It sought several things including STV for elections.
