Trade Me sold to Fairfax for $700m

An excellent deal for both sides. Sam Morgan is well on the way to being a billionaire while Fairfax gets a hugely successful online business.

Very glad to see Morgan will stay on as CEO of Trade Me with no major changes planned.

I am reminded that Sam Morgan was chosen by NBR as its 2005 New Zealander of the Year. It is a remarkable success story both locally and globally.
