Payroll Tax

Dr Cullen looks to have found a new tax to foist on us. His officials are looking at a payroll tax on employers.

A payroll tax means that a firm spending $1,000 on staff will now cost it more than spending $1,000 on say marketing. It provides a direct disincentive to hire staff.

I would have thought after the defeat of the fart tax they would have given up on new taxes. But alas no.
