Labour on Tax Cuts
Tim Selwyn highlighted an amusing portion of the PM’s speech where it seems she said National is promising a “spend-up of tax cuts”.
I think reflects perfectly that to most of Labour they quite honestly do see no difference between them spending money on our behalf, and giving taxpayers their own money back to them. They see it just as a different form of spending.
And with Dr Cullen threatening to cancel the 67 cent a week tax cuts due in 2008, well who is surprised.
I mean in just five months Cullen has a six billion surplus, and he is now saying one can’t even afford a miserly $300 million a year reducition in tax.
Personally I’d be delighted if Labour do cancel even this miserly tax cut. Politically it would be suicidal.
