A good article by the Centre for Independent Studies over at the NZ Centre for Political Debate.

The key line that strikes me is that Australia spends $80 billion a year on income support, and personal taxes come to $90 billion a year. So yes almost the entire personal tax take goes on redistributing income – some of it back to those who pay it.
