All too easy
I normally resist rebutting criticisms which are so easy to rebut it is an easy fight but hey so I don’t get out of practice I’ll quickly deal with Stephen Cooper saying I have been pushing racist filth.
Stephen starts talking about Arabs, but overlooks that I never mentioned Arabs. I only mentioned Muslims and I am well aware not all Arabs are Muslims and most certainly not all Muslims are Arabs.
He then claims I talked about white people in Europe. But again he is wrong. I have not referred to any race or colour. The last time I was in Europe there were many many non-white Europeans. Stephen seems to again confuse religion and skin colour or race.
Stephen also claims mixed marriages (in terms of Muslims and non Muslims) will become more common. I’d be fascinated to see any evidence he has to back up this assertion as the reports I have seen is that the lack of mixed marriages is a major problem. In fact one reason why NZ has comparatively less friction than many other countries is the high mixed marriage rate, but this has not been the case in Europe.
Stephen also repeats the claim that no two democracies have ever gone to war. Oh dear. Unless you adopt a definition of democracy which basically no country in the world qualified for until after WWII there have been several dozen wars between democracies. And closer to home umm didn’t Palestine just democratically elect a Government which vows to destroy through war its democratic neighbour?
He also claims “conservatives” have opposed immigration from Jews, Catholics, Irish, African, Russians, Mexicans, Turks, Islanders and Asians. Really?
Sigh. All to easy.
