Political Astrologers
Sometimes political journalism seems to resemble astrology for its ability to see deliberate patterns in events.
Take Ratana. Because it had rained and things were behind schedule they asked two Opposition parties – Maori and National – if they would be okay to enter together. They said yeah no problem.
The NZ Herald portrays this as punishment for the Maori Party, while the Dom Post has this as the Maori Party upstaging Labour and being helped by organisers.
I just want to know how the cunning bi-polar organisers managed to arrange it to rain in advance, so they could implement their cunning plan to both punish and help the Maori Party.
Jeez a classic case of making a fuss about nothing.
