Point of no return

The NZ Herald reports on the divided Green views on the prediction by environmental scientist James Lovelock that the Earth has passed the point of no return for global warming.

Now Lovelock basically says the Earth is doomed, and humanity will be wiped out in around 100 years.

My response is that if this is true let’s go out with a bang, not a whimper. Let’s have a huge 100 year long hedonistic party. If life on earth is to end, we may as well enjoy it to the maximum.

No need to conserve species – they are all doomed also. Let’s see whales and kiwis on every good restaurant menu!
