Power Line has extended extracts from a speech from the former Director of the NSA. It clears up several misconceptions and I think provides a very useful perspective on recent issues.

The interception without warrant issue, as it happens, is almost dead in the US. Democrats in Congress are now supporting the programme and saying they want to change the law to make it unequivocally legal for the programme to continue.
