Just remember the next time someone holds up Scandinavia as the ideal society this law highlighted by Lindsay Mitchell.

The law requires a minimum 40% female composition of public company boards. The Minister has threatened to dissolve any company which does not comply. I can think of nothing more insulting to female board directors (and I am on a company board with three exceptionally skilled female directors) than this sort of law where you would never know if you were appointed on merit or just to stop the Government from dissolving the company.

The law was actually introduced by the former Conservative Government. I knew a few of their MPs so will have to give them grief when I next see them.
