More wire-tapping polls
A while back I posted a huge 64% supported the NSA wire-tapping programme. Various people tried to undermine the results insisting that as it didn’t refer to the lack of warrants, the results were not credible.
I said that as the poll was taken during hueg media coverage of the issue, the public would be aware of the fact they were warrantless.
Anyway Power Line has details of a poll question which explicitly says:
Do you think the president should or should not have the power to authorize the National Security Agency to monitor electronic communications of suspected terrorists without getting warrants, even if one end of the communication is in the United States?
A large 58% to 30% say yes.
60% also support the President directing the NSA to do computer searches of large numbers of international phone calls coming in and out of the United States without getting warrants.
And in terms of the people who leaked details of the NSA programme, 27% think they are whistle blowers, and 50% say traitors.
