Ariel Sharon

It is rather ironic that the death of Yasser Arafat allowed the peace process to advance significantly, while the incapacity of Ariel Sharon looks to set it back equally severely.

In a competition for most tasteless remarks we have Pat Robertson who has suggested Sharon’s stroke is punishment from God for dividing Israel by giving up territory, and our equally mad or bad friend, the President of Iran, who says he is hoping for his death. I’m not sure which of those two I would least like to have nuclear weapons. And to think Robertson once stood for US President.
