Conference Call Eavesdropping
NZPA reports how the Engineers Union has discovered there was an unauthorised party on some of their weekly conference calls with union delegates.
It certainly looks very deliberate with the unknown person calling in 10 minutes before they started and being last to log off. If they track down who it was, that person could be in serious trouble.
Mind you there is a lesson here about keeping PIN numbers for conference calls secure. You can rotate them at regular intervals for example.
Other measures one can take is to have a call where no-one can dial in until the convener does. One can also require people joining to say their name, so that is broadcast as they join.
