Peters pays court costs

Do you all remember the allegations about NZ First getting large amounts of cash handed over in paper bags to Ross Meurant from a fisheries company. And how Winston said it was all lies and he was suing.

Well back on 10 November 2004 I predicted “Personally I suspect the case will be dropped after the election. I can not imagine any scenario where one wants to risk having Ross Meurant on the witness stand, testifying about activites while working for you.”

Today, surprise surprise, we find out Peters quietly dropped the case against David Carter in September (my bet is on the 19th) and has had to pay $3,000 court costs.
