Peters on Iran again

AFter Iran called for Israel’s destruction all our foreign minister could muster was to read out MFAT’s note saying the comments were unhelpful. Should qualify for an award for under-statement.

After howls of criticism Peters has got MFAT to give him some new words – we are up to “inflammatory and unacceptable”. Getting better.

Missing a chance to stamp his mark on the portfolio, and show he isn’t just a news reader behind an MFAT teleprompter he claims “New Zealand takes an open-minded and even-handed approach to UN voting on Arab-Israel resolutions” on the basis of “our voting record has been closely aligned with the Nordic countries and broadly aligned with the EU”.

Does he not know the EU is dominated by French foreign policy which is massively anti-Israel?
