Not a good start for DBP

Last Friday the Press reported that two beneficiaries were being investigated for claiming single benefits while they were living together on a yacht.

Judth Collins asked the new Welfare Minister yesterday whether benefits were intended to allow people to fund their yachting voyages. Benson-Pope claimed he had no knowledge of any inquiry, despite it having been reported publicly four days earlier.

This seems like an early audition to replace George Hawkins as Minister most likely to not know what is happening in his Department.
