Enemies of free speech

The FCC in the US, in a fit of madness, is considering whether to regards blogs as media and regulate them. Yes to express an opinion on your personal blog might mean you’d have to register etc.

There was a bill in the US House which would put blogs off limits from media regulation. It needed a 2/3rds majority to suspend the rules to adopt it. It got 225:182 and fell short.

Republicans voted in favour 179:38, while Democrats voted 46:143 against.
