Democracy by Michael Frayn
On Friday night I went to Circa to see the play Democracy by Michael Frayn. It was an excellent play – highly recommended, and even nicer it was free as I was officially going as Mark Blumsky’s date 🙂
The play is about Willy Brandt, and his eventual resignation as German Chancellor when it is revealed one of his closest aides has been a long-term spy for the East German Stasi.
There is a cast of ten, all men, and they do a great job of portraying Brandt’s inner circle and the ups and downs of the era.
If you want a good night out, well worth going to. Around two hours in total, plus a break. A Daily Telegraph review is typical.
