Tauranga Electoral Petition

Winston Peters has lodged an electoral petition for Tauranga, alleging Bob Clarkson spent more than $20,000.

Well done to the NZ Herald who have correctly reported the outcome, if sucessful, is a by-election. Newstalk ZB are incorrectly saying that the seat could be forfeited to Peters.

I said a couple of weeks ago that it was logicial for Peters to file a petition. Regardless of the merits of the case (and no-one can know this), it will keep Peters in the headlines for months on end.
