Heh I was right
I made the call that Davis had bombed and that Hague had been the true start of yesterday based on my own impressions. However all the media have gone the same line with Davis, and The Times has finished its story with “Hague for Leader”.
Hague hosted a function last night for the International Democrat Union (federation of centre-right parties) and was in very popular demand. Rather ironic to be an elder statesman of the party in your 40s.
Everyone says that the leadership race has made this the best party conference in over a decade. Very good timing for me to just happen to be here at the right time.
Boris Johnson has come out and strongly endorsed David Cameron. David Davis is almost guaranteed to be one of the two who will go to the members to vote on. If Cameron is the other, I think he might end up beating him.
