Going alone
The Dominion Post says that it looks like attempts by Clark to get Greens, United Future and NZ First all into Government have failed.
According to the DP, all three parties were offered Ministerial positions, but they wouldn’t all agree to serve together.
I’ve always thought a simple Labour-Progressive Government most likely. Those two parties will have 51 votes and they need to get 10 out of the 18 votes held by NZ First (7), Greens (6), Maori (4) and United (3) to pass legislation.
If Clark is clever, she will get Green/Maori to support left-wing policies and NZ First/United to support more centrist policies. On each vote then she can win 61 to 60.
