Peters gets dirtier
There are few things less appealing than an absolutely desperate Winston Peters who four days before the election, and looking to be trounced in Tauranga, is doing a classic smear job.
After having had yesterday’s efforts explode in his face, he is now flying over (or she may be doing it herself) the ex staff member who complained about Bob Clarkson saying “I bet my left testicle that the All Blacks will win:.
My thoughts are two fold. The first are that many employers have ex-staff who do not like them. And if it is correct he sacked her after three weeks, and sued for $250,000 then she is not the most neutral witness.
The second is where this muckraking takes politics? I mean if Peters thinks sexual harrassment is suddenly a big character issue, then would it be in order for a journalist to ask candidates whether they consider an MP having an affair with his or her much younger secretary is sexual harrassment? Should that be reported?
