Peters stoops down to Mallard’s level

Winston Peters has switched tacks from blaming all the problems of NZ on Asian immigrants to now targetting Muslims.

Now I personally am no fan of Islam. I think as a religion it has serious deficiencies, and with no centralised authority, no way to stop the extreme factions from gaining more and more supporters. However I believe in treating people as individuals and not pre-judging them on race or religion.

But Peters is just preposterous when he announces in hushed tones to his campaign launch that, get this:

The mother-in-law of the one of the bombers involved in the recent London blasts had visited New Zealand last year and had friends in Auckland

How can anyone take this crap seriously? Oh my God someone’s mother-in-law once visited New Zealand, let’s clamp down the borders.

The NZ Herald is unimpressed, and likewise for The Press.
