How Government works

A Perinatal and Maternal Review Mortality Committee has been established but without an anaesthetist on board. Why? Because the expert recommended by the Society of Anaesthetists was turned down by the Government.

Why again? Because he is the person who complained to the Police about the PM’s art forgery. So never mind we may not know why infants die in hospitals, as long as those on the blacklist are kept away.

Now the Minister claims he had not been recommended by her ministry, as if it was a decision just made by neutral staff. But this is not how Government works. Departments always discuss proposed recommendations like these with the Minister or his/her political staff before making them. And you can be sure they were left under no doubt not to recommend Dr Sharpe.
