A good zoning summary

The NZ Herald has a good article on zoning with the pros and cons of zoning at the end of the article.

For me the biggest issue is that zoning does protect schools with low educational standards as it prevents unhappy parents and students going elsewhere.

The tragedy is that even if a good or popular school has the ability to expand and take on more students, the bureaucrats will usually not allow it to do so if other schools nearby are under their capacity.
