What do we want?
Student activists traditionally chant:
“What do we want?”
“Free Education”
“When do we want it?”
“Now”
The Fairfax poll suggests the chant going around the land is:
“What do we want?”
“Tax Cuts”
“When do we want it?”
“Now”
Now only do 75% of NZers want tax cuts, so do 67% of Labour voters. Now Labour is planning a scare campaign that tax cuts means cuts in public services (in fact can be funded out of surpluses alone) but even if they do mean a cut in public services, you still have over half in favour.
Now a poll in April only had 28% of people supporting tax cuts, so the magnitude of the Government’s budget own goal is becoming clear.
