Fairfax has stated with regular polls, and today has the results of the first poll. The party vote and no of seats are:

Labour 40% 50
National 38% 48
NZ First 9% 11
Green 5% 6
Maori 2% 5
United 2% 2
ACT 2% 0
Progressive 0% 1

Total = 123 seats

This is based on Maori Party winning give seats, and Dunne and Anderton retaining their seats.

One needs 63 seats for a majority. Possible options are:

Labour/Green/Maori/Progressive = 62 (one short)
Labour/NZ First/United = 63
Labour/Green/NZ First = 67
Labour/Maori/NZ First = 66

National/United = 50
National/NZ First/United = 61 seats (two short)
