Batman Begins

Saw Batman Begins last night with Disease Girl and really really liked it. Definitely the best of the series.

They did everything well. The plot actually worked, the romance angle was minimal – not soppy (Katie Holmes very hot though), the casting was good etc.

The batmobile absolutely rocked. Think more a fast moving tank than the traditional batmobile. Also loved the scene where Bruce Wayne overcomes his fear of bats and is surrounded in the cave with thousands of them flying all around him. The scene worked well.

My other favourite scene was where Bruce Wayne is on the town with two lovely models. The restaurant manager informs him that the fountain is not actually designed for swimming, and furthermore his two (very drunk) companions do not seem to have any swimwear (in birthday suits IIRC). He then buys the hotel and jumps in to join them 🙂

Overall a very enjoyable and well made movie. Not a brilliant movie, but a very good one. Afterwards had the usual good meal at Big Thumb.
