The election with three winners and three losers
I have found it amusing that all three parties have claimed some victory from the UK election.
Labour claimed a victory as they got re-elected.
The Tories claimed a victory as they won enough seats to get Labour’s majority down to a barely manageable 66.
The Lib Dems claimed a victory as it was their best ever result.
However also losses for all three.
Labour had its majority shrink by 100, and Blair may now be a lame duck.
The Conservatives didn’t increase their overall vote, and their Leader has resigned.
The Lib Dems failed totally in their strategy to unseat top Tories, and may in the long term be marginalised for having gone to the left of Labour and abandoned their role as a centrist party.
