Tax Cuts by Xmas
National is promising tax cuts by Xmas. I like the sound of that. And with a near $8b surplus, it will have credibility as to affordability despite the best attempts of Dr Cullen to confuse the issue.
Looks like NZers will welcome it also, with the NZ Herald reporting only 27% happy with the tax cuts in the budget and again only 27% happy they are having to wait three years.
During those three years a Labour Government would run surpluses of a combined $20 billion or so, so no wonder people are not convinced that they are not affordable now.
