Out of petrol

Was texted by a friend at 5 pm yesterday to say her car had broken down on Bowen Street and was blocking traffic. Not surprisingly, she had many offers of help to move it to the side of the road more.

I was all sympathetic until the AA came out and diagnosed the problem as being out of petrol. Now the car is a BMW and has a pretty large fuel tank, and I know the driver only uses it for short trips around the city. I estimated that it must have been flashing empty for at least one to two weeks, and this was confirmed. She thinks that it is somehow unfair for her to be hassled over this 🙂
