Families Commission
The only major achievement (and I use that term in a very liberal sense) that United Future seems to have got off Labour for being the pet poodle is the establishment of a Families Commission.
A huge $30 million or so has gone into this quango.
Now I follow politics and government closely and I honestly could not name a single thing it has achieved. Up until today the only thing of note was to have its Chair attack Don Brash because he wanted to stop some welfare rorts.
Today I can add two more items to its list of achievements. It has been running some nice ads on TV telling us how lucky we are to have them around now. And it has managed to lose its chief executive after only five months.
How ever did we survive without a Families Commission in the past?
